Poster Designs for Futura and Baskerville Typefaces

Depicting the typefaces Futura and Baskerville, these posters present the history of the fonts and highlight their unique qualities. Showcasing their full range as a typeface, these posters incorporate their various weights and glyphs. For Futura, which is based on simple geometric shapes (circles, squares, and triangles), I arranged the elements in a rectangular layout to structure the poster design and added elements within circles and formatted as squares to emphasize the geometric shapes. With Baskerville, I focused on imitating the curves and elegance of the font that was inspired by calligraphy and kept the design neat to show the crispness of this particular typeface. On the third poster, I combined the two typefaces to highlight the beauty of each typeface, visually communicating the differences of each while simultaneously having them work together as a cohesive poster. 11” x 17”
